Boreal Collection- Golden Light

In June I paid a visit to Waterton Lakes National Park to deliver the first wholesale order to a local shop making Waterton the first National Park my art is stocked in! It was the most beautiful day. On my way out of town I stopped outside of the buffalo paddock to watch the herd of buffalo along with a mother grizzly bear and her cub in the distance. The air was so sweet as it carried the scent of late spring blooms including wild roses, my favourite. I ended up staying in that spot for a couple of hours to watch the sunset over the mountains. It was such a serene experience I will never forget. Did I end up getting home at 3am? Yup. Worth it? Absolutely! 
This piece is dedicated to this spectacular evening. Golden Light is made with 173 pieces of reclaimed cedar sourced from various locations around Calgary. Most are reclaimed cedar fence and deck boards. The piece is sealed with a generous application of tung oil and comes with a wire hanger across the back.
