Montane Collection- Forest Bathing
The concept of forest bathing (Shinrin-yoku) originated in Japan in the 80s and has since become a worldwide practice used to navigate a high stress, tech driven world. To be honest I wasn’t aware it was a “thing” until a few years back but have practiced forest bathing since childhood. Sitting in a quiet, mossy forest surrounded by towering trees is one of the best ways to calm your nervous system!
This piece features a vibrant green, hand painted aurora dancing over reclaimed cedar mountains. The cedar used in forest bathing has the most stunning grain and has many unique knots. It is finished with a generous application of tung oil to enhance the rich colour of the wood and protect it for years to come!

The mountains in Forest Bathing are made of cedar purchased from an individual selling their “scraps” for firewood. I’d say it looks far better as mountains than ash in a fire pit! The frame is made of pine 1x2s.
